iPAQ and Palm: The Great Debate
Two of the best selling PDA's are the iPAQ and Palm Pilot, but at the rate popularity is growing with the iPAQ Pocket PC, it may not be long before iPAQ becomes the undisputed leader in the industry.
Those who have used both Palm Pilot and the iPAQ, will tell you there are four features which have impressed them enough to change brands:
- The Pocket PC's operating system is very similar to using Windows, and since they have Windows on their home PC, the transition between units is painless.
- While the sleek Palm Pilot may look good, it doesn't stand up to rough usage. One accidental drop and the case can easily be cracked or destroyed. The Pocket PC is a bit chunkier and stands up better to bangs and bumps.
- Colors! The Palm Pilot has traditionally provided a grayscale screen, but the Pocket PC comes with a vivid, bright screen and the ability to dress up the desktop and audio with skins, or themes.
- The MP3 player on the iPAQ is the best on the market; a real must have for music lovers.
To the credit of the Palm Pilot, the OS operating system run more quickly, but that said, it seems a little weak in comparison to its rival.
Whether you are looking for your first PDA phone or your fifth, the iPAQ is worth checking out. And, if you are looking to use Microsoft products on the go, you'll be happy to hear the iPAQ comes bundled with Office Suite and Internet Explorer.
