Is an Aluminum PDA Case Right for You?
For most people, a leather or nylon PDA case will provide sufficient protection. In an office, working in the sales field, or in other low-impact jobs, softer cases can protect your handheld PC well enough for everyday life. But if you work in a field such as construction or engineering, you might want to consider purchasing an aluminum PDA case.
Both strong and lightweight, these cases resemble cigarette cases, and provide a hard shell for your Pocket PC while you work in places where it could be crushed, stomped on, or otherwise treated harshly. Most metal containers have a shock-absorbent interior, often of silicon or rubber, and port windows to allow easy access for everyday tasks. They often include a place for business card storage and sometimes allow you to store small peripherals such as memory cards. Additionally, they are designed to stay closed tightly when not in use, so they won't fly open when your computer falls out of your pocket or off your belt.
When purchasing an aluminum case for your handheld computer, make certain it's right for your purposes. Check to see that it fits your computer properly and provides you with easy access to all your routine tasks. It should also look nice, though this is a secondary consideration to security and protection. Don't forget to look for an alternate answer to carrying your PDA accessories with you, if the case you choose does not make room for them. When looking for a high quality case that is right for you and your handheld PC, consider getting an aluminum case for heavy-duty protection.
